The ReSea project is an is an innovative European initiative dedicated to fostering regenerative sports and sustainable coastal activities. By blending environmental awareness with active community participation, ReSea Sports aims to create a new blueprint for how sports can actively contribute to ocean health, community engagement, and climate resilience across European coastal regions.

As part of the Transnational Partners Meeting within the project, the partners met in St Pierre Quiberon, Brittany (France) from 17 to 19 September. The project had the opportunity to visit the Ecole Nationale de Voile et Sports Nautiques (ENSV), an organisation of the French Ministry of Sport dedicated to training, research and development in the water sports sector.

During the exchange programme, the project team was able to work on the development of deliverables, plan the implementation of the pilot sites and learn about other related initiatives and projects. One of the main points of the working sessions was to analyse the project’s first deliverable on the methodology of regenerative governance in sports activities. Through research, interviews and a review of existing research, a report was developed with key concepts, new data at European level and key recommendations. The document will be published in the coming months on the official project website.

In addition, the partners committed themselves as signatories to the new Green Manifesto launched by the European Commission – Initiative SHARE 2.0.

ReSea Sports Signs the Green Sport Manifesto

We’re playing for the planet – and we’ve just made it official.

ReSea Sports is proud to announce its official endorsement of the Green Sport Manifesto, joining a growing movement of sport organisations across Europe committed to embedding sustainability at the heart of sport.

What is the Green Sport Manifesto?

Launched by the European Commission as part of the SHARE 2.0 initiative, the Green Sport Manifesto provides a roadmap for the sport sector to take real, measurable action for environmental sustainability. It calls on signatories to:

  • Implement sustainability governance structures
  • Develop and share sustainability strategies
  • Measure and report progress annually
  • Promote green sport collaboration
  • Create and use practical green sport tools

ReSea Sports joins other visionary organisations in showing that regenerative and responsible sport is not only possible — it’s essential.

Why it matters for ReSea

As a project built on the principles of regenerative tourism and marine conservation, aligning with the Green Sport Manifesto was a natural step for us.

ReSea Sports already works closely with coastal communities, researchers, and sports clubs to minimise the impact of water sports activities, restore marine ecosystems, engage local stakeholders in regeneration efforts, and promote both ocean literacy and cultural heritage. Through this work, we aim to champion a new model of sport — one that gives back more than it takes.

The Manifesto amplifies our message at a European level and connects us with like-minded partners working toward the same goal: sports that sustain and regenerate our blue planet.

What’s next?

All ReSea Sports partners are now joining the Manifesto, creating a strong united front for sustainable and regenerative sport in Europe.

As we move forward, we’ll continue to share our journey, insights, and best practices with the wider community through:

  • Sustainability workshops and webinars
  • Pilot actions in coastal areas
  • Local engagement campaigns
  • Progress updates on our commitments

We also encourage other organisations, from grassroots clubs to large federations, to sign the Manifesto and take action.
