The tourism and hospitality industries are amongst the world’s most exciting and vibrant places to work, and nowhere more so than in Africa. Outdoor adventure provides a great context in which to explore the ways landscape, peoples and more-than-human communities interact – in forests, in the sea and on the plains.

The Adventure Tourism Research Association, in collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology, is delighted to be hosting in September the 11th International Adventure Conference, in Knysna, South Africa.

The organisers invite practitioners and academics to learn about and share cutting edge experiences in tourism and hospitality, as we consider how to develop the tourist resource with respect – respect for people, for the planet, and for the places they meet.

The submission of abstracts/papers is currently being invited, for double-blind peer review, to form the basis of conference presentations. Please see https://atra.global/iac2024/ for more details.  Conference registration will open later in April.

If you would like to learn more, please contact Jelena Farkic (ATRA) at jfarkic@gmail.com regarding abstract submission or Uwe Hermann hermannup@tut.ac.za for event information.
