Our Leadership

The ENOS Management Committee provides strategic direction, governance, and advocacy across Europe. Democratically elected every two years during the General Assembly (coinciding with Euro’meet), the Board ensures that ENOS remains accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the European outdoor sports community.

We focus on sustainable, inclusive, and high-quality outdoor sports initiatives, connecting people with nature while fostering policy, education, and industry collaboration. The Board works closely with Expert Groups, members, and partners to ensure initiatives are well-informed, actionable, and impactful.

Joining the ENOS Board

Becoming a member of the ENOS Board is an opportunity to shape the future of outdoor sports across Europe, combining leadership, expertise, and strategic insight. The Board seeks individuals who bring a rare mix of specialized skills, strategic vision, and cross-cultural perspective.

Key qualities we look for include:

  • Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge in areas such as policy, advocacy, project management, finance, communications, sustainability, or education.
  • Strategic Perspective: The ability to understand and contribute to ENOS initiatives at local, national, and European levels, with a capacity to anticipate trends and challenges in the sector.
  • Complementarity and Value: Skills that enhance and diversify the existing Board, strengthening collective decision-making and enabling high-quality guidance across the network.
  • Leadership and Initiative: Capacity to lead on specific projects, policy areas, or organizational functions, shaping both operational and strategic priorities.
  • Operational and Technical Insight: From financial management to programmatic delivery, technical competencies that support the organization’s sustainability and effectiveness.
  • European Outlook and Cultural Awareness: Awareness of different national and regional contexts, fostering cross-border collaboration, inclusivity, and innovative approaches.
  • Diversity and Balance: A commitment to gender balance, geographic representation, and cultural diversity, ensuring the Board reflects the broad European outdoor sports community it serves.

Pathways to membership

The primary route to Board membership is via democratic elections every two years, held during the Euro’meet General Assembly. This ensures accountability to our members and alignment with ENOS’s mission.

Additionally, ENOS maintains a co-option process for exceptional cases: when specialized expertise is needed, or to replace departing members, the Board may invite individuals through a transparent dialogue and observation process.

Joining the ENOS Board is more than a role: it is a commitment to serving and advancing outdoor sports in Europe, supporting sustainable practices, nurturing talent, and fostering connections across borders. It is an opportunity to combine personal expertise with collective impact, contributing to a stronger, more resilient network.
